The Venice Beach Freak Show was fun, it was alot smaller than I expected it to be and they didn't want us to take pictures of some stuff there. But it was an interesting visit, I saw lots of gross things and some things that looked really fake. Here's a few pictures I took, I'll probably use the first one for my poster.

ReplyDeleteContent / Idea / SLOGAN – “we’ve been expecting you”. A big leap and captured some of Neville brodys techniques.
Design: What is your hierarchy. The slogan is the most important. And successful – it pops out and is legible.
The Venice beach is the 2nd most important but the Freak show could have been in a different colour to give a different emphasis.
You have reflected somewhat Neville Brody because his style reflects a greater audience and the younger audience. You have used the grid as a structure.
I think the text body is a little too bold and big. I actually like the negative space because is reflects the heaviness of the grid the steps. Look at the edges of the text, perhaps it needs to be justified so that the text reflects the notion of the heavy grid. Perhaps the block of color could run off the page so the add does not stop a couple of mm from the edge.
The address could have been staggered down a bit - even integrating the text into the label of the bottle
Elements of 2D – movement through out the advertisement - jumping from picture to text. There could be more dynamic by moving the type around a bit more.
The saturated color is strong but the text could use some more. Think warm and cool color
